Telescope Suitability: Ideal for various Celestron models including C8 black or gray, Ultima 2000, NexStar 8, and many others, including post-2005 orange-tube models. Not compatible with pre-1980 orange tube models or most scopes with black Phillips factory screws.
Knob Features: Made of black plastic, each knob is 13 mm (1/2”) in diameter, ensuring easy grip and accurate adjustments.
Thread Quality: Constructed with black anodized aluminum alloy threads for a secure and durable fit.
Compatibility and Model Identification:
Fits Pre- and Post-2005 Models: Suitable for C8 models made prior to 2005 (excluding pre-1980 orange tube) and most post-2005 models with silver factory screws.
Metric vs. Standard Threads: Most black Phillips screws models require metric knobs (see Item C), but some post-2005 models have standard threads.
Spacer Usage:
Optional Spacers: Spacers are provided to elevate the knobs for ease of use, but can be omitted if they interfere with the dust cover. Required for Fastar secondary with silver screws.
Dust Cover and Secondary Cover:
Dust Cover Compatibility: The factory dust cover will fit as usual with Bob's Knobs installed.
Removal of Plastic Cover: If present, a small plastic cover over factory screws must be removed for knob installation. The cover is cosmetic.
