When placed between your telescope and the eyepiece, the X-Cel 2X Barlow lens enhances the magnification of all your 1.25” eyepieces by a factor of two. Crafted with premium apochromatic optics, it produces images that are not only crisp and high-contrast but also almost entirely free of false color.

The lens comes in a black anodized housing accented with orange details, designed to pair well with the Celestron X-Cel LX eyepiece series. A strategically located rubber grip on the barrel helps ensure you maintain a steady hold, even if you have cold fingers or are wearing gloves. Inside the top of the X-Cel Barlow, a brass compression ring secures your eyepiece when you tighten the thumbscrew. This design provides a more reliable grip than relying solely on the thumbscrew, and also safeguards your eyepiece's barrel from any scratches.

One more convenient feature is that the barrel of this Celestron X-Cel LX 2x Barlow is threaded to accommodate 1.25” filters. This means you can easily switch between eyepieces without the hassle of removing and reattaching the filter each time you do.
