Explore the universe with the Celestron CGX-L Equatorial 1400 Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope, a marvel in astronomical engineering. This telescope features a 14" Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tube, coated with Celestron’s premium StarBright XLT coatings to ensure maximum light transmission and clarity. The CGX-L computerized Equatorial mount, the latest addition to Celestron's fully computerized mount series, is designed to carry the largest of Celestron’s optical tubes with unparalleled ease.
Unique to this telescope is the Schmidt-Cassegrain focusing mechanism. It incorporates two pre-loaded ball bearings, significantly reducing the common issue of "mirror flop" found in bushing focus mechanisms. This enhancement ensures a more stable and precise focusing experience.
The telescope comes with a heavy-duty stainless steel tripod, adjustable from 38 to 55 inches, catering to a variety of viewing heights and conditions. A 9x50 finderscope is included to aid in accurately locating celestial objects, and a star diagonal is provided to offer a more comfortable viewing position, especially for objects that are situated high in the sky.
Celestron’s CGX-L mount is not just about robust support; it is also Fastar compatible, showcasing a compact and innovative design ideal for backyard observatories and remote imagers. This mount is known for its exceptional load capacity to weight ratio and includes advanced features to support large telescopes, imaging kits, and the latest in wireless tech accessories.
Key design elements of the CGX-L mount include larger 144mm diameter worm wheels for smoother operation, a longer 270mm dovetail saddle to support larger tubes, and features conducive to remote operation like home and limit optical sensors. The mount also provides easier polar alignment adjustments and improved cable management. With mechanical and ergonomic improvements made throughout, the mount is sturdier, more user-friendly, and easier to transport. The Celestron CGX-L Equatorial 1400 Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope epitomizes a COMPACT, ERGONOMIC, and INNOVATIVE approach to modern astronomical observation and imaging.
