Effortless Powering Solutions

The Focus Motor is self-powered in multiple ways for your convenience. When connected to a Celestron computerized mount, the mount itself provides the necessary power. Alternatively, a direct computer connection through USB can also power the motor. For those not using a Celestron mount, an external 12V DC power source can be used, plugging directly into the motor’s power jack.

Wide Compatibility Range

Designed to be versatile, the Focus Motor is compatible with an array of Celestron optical tubes, including a wide variety of Schmidt-Cassegrain, EdgeHD, and Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph models. Notably, it's now compatible with the 9.25” EdgeHD. However, it's important to note that it's not suited for 5” SCTs or models produced before 2006.

Advanced Motor Controls

The Focus Motor offers an array of control features, such as multiple speed rates, automatic GoTo indexed focuser position, and focuser backlash compensation. Its indexed focus position allows the motor to automatically return to a previous focus point and prevents it from overreaching the end of the telescope’s mechanical focus travel.
