Celestron Lunar and Planetary Filter Set, 1.25"

Enhance your celestial observations with the Celestron Lunar and Planetary Filter Set, a beginner-friendly collection of 1.25” filters designed to fit any telescope. This set allows you to view lunar and planetary features in greater detail and contrast. It includes four different filters: Wratten #12 Deep Yellow, #21 Orange, #80A Light Blue, and a #ND-96-0.3 Neutral Density Filter with 50% transmission. These colored filters are specially crafted to highlight details on planetary surfaces and cloud structures.

Each filter in the Celestron set is versatile and easily attaches to any 1.25” eyepiece with standard filter threads. Simply screw the filter onto your eyepiece of choice and insert it into the telescope’s focuser to begin exploring.

The included filters serve various purposes:

• #12 Deep Yellow: Ideal for smaller aperture telescopes, this filter enhances lunar contrast and brings out details in Jupiter’s belts and Saturn’s rings, as well as Martian clouds and ice caps, and features on Uranus and Neptune.
• #21 Orange: This filter is excellent for observing Mars, sharpening the appearance of surface features by reducing blue/green light. It also enhances details in the belts and polar regions of Jupiter and Saturn.
• #80A Light Blue: Increases the contrast of Jupiter’s cloud belts and Saturn’s ice caps. It can also add contrast to lunar features, albeit with a color shift.
• ND-96-0.3 Neutral Density: Perfect for observing the Moon and for use with other planetary filters to adjust density without altering color. This filter is also useful for observing binary star systems and reducing brightness without affecting the color of the target object.

Each filter in the Celestron Lunar and Planetary Filter Set has a 26mm clear aperture and is mounted in a black anodized aluminum cell, threaded on both ends for stacking options. The double threading allows for combination of filters to create custom effects or adjust transmission percentages. The filters are coated to prevent reflections, ghosting, and scratches, and a plastic case is included for safe storage when not in use.
