Discover the universe with the Celestron NexStar 130 SLT Newtonian Telescope, a high-quality 130mm Newtonian Reflector designed for celestial observing. This telescope features a fully computerized Altazimuth mount and a StarPointer™ red-dot finderscope, which aids in alignment and accurately locating celestial objects.
Designed for convenience, the NexStar 130 SLT comes with a quick-release fork arm mount, optical tube, and accessory tray for a quick and easy no-tool setup. The package includes a sturdy, stainless steel tripod and accessory tray to provide a stable platform for your stargazing sessions.
The NexStar 130 SLT is an ideal telescope for viewing the finer details of the lunar surface, the phases of Venus, the polar caps on Mars, Jupiter along with its four moons, and Saturn with its rings. It's also versatile enough to be used as a land-based spotting scope for daytime and wildlife observations.
The telescope's computerized Altazimuth Mount, part of the NexStar SLT series, features a single fork arm that allows it to track objects as they move across the sky. The mount rests on a pre-assembled, adjustable steel tripod for stability. With the NexStar+ hand control, users can automatically slew to any of 40,000 celestial objects, making stargazing a breeze. The hand control's database includes over 600 galaxies, 300 clusters, and many binary stars. Not sure what to observe? The Sky Tour feature generates a list of the best celestial objects currently visible based on your location and time.
Setting up and using the telescope is faster and easier than ever with Celestron’s proprietary SkyAlign technology. Simply align the telescope with three bright objects in the sky, and it will automatically triangulate its position to locate any object in the sky.
The NexStar 130 SLT operates on 8 AA batteries (not included) or a PowerTank portable battery (sold separately), making it perfect for remote dark sky locations. The internal battery compartment powers the high precision servo motors, ensuring low-vibration performance and eliminating cord wrap issues.
Your telescope package includes a StarPointer™ red dot finderscope, a star diagonal, and two eyepieces (25mm and 9mm) for different magnification options. The star diagonal offers a more comfortable viewing angle, and the finderscope makes centering objects in your eyepiece easier.
Ready to evolve with your growing interest in astronomy, the NexStar 130 SLT is compatible with all of Celestron’s latest accessories, including StarSense AutoAlign and SkyPortal WiFi module.
Enhance your stargazing experience with a free download of Celestron’s Starry Night software, included with your purchase. This premier astronomy software package helps you learn about the night sky, celestial objects, and plan your observing sessions, offering a comprehensive view of our solar system and beyond.
