The iOptron GEM45 takes German equatorial mounts to the next level by combining cutting-edge features with a proven design. One look at its sleek CNC-machined body and you know this mount means business.
Drawing from the knowledge gained through our CEM series, we've streamlined the GEM45 to achieve an impressive 2.5 payload-to-weight ratio. Weighing just 17.5 pounds, this compact powerhouse can precisely navigate and track up to 45 pounds of equipment. The built-in iPolar electronic polar scope simplifies the polar alignment process, even if you can't see the North Star. Thanks to large, easy-to-use levers on the quick-lock drive system, engaging the gears is a breeze, even with gloves on. And don't worry about tangled cables; the mount's advanced internal cable management keeps everything neat and tidy. A 6-inch dual saddle fits both Losmandy and Vixen style dovetail plates. Plus, the mount employs dependable stepper motors and energy-efficient tech. The included LiteRoc 1.75" tripod offers stability without the bulk. Standard features include a 212,000+ object library with star identification, GPS, and optional Wi-Fi capability through the iStarFi adapter.
The GEM45G model ups the ante with its onboard iGuider system, which includes a 30mm f4 lens and a 1/3-inch imaging sensor with 3.75um pixels, all neatly integrated into the mount's dovetail saddle. The iPolar, iGuider, and an extra USB port all run through a single USB connection for convenience.
