This allows the GEM45 to handle up to 45lbs of equipment, while itself weighing just 17.5lbs. Polar alignment is hassle-free, thanks to the built-in iPolar electronic polar scope—even when Polaris is out of sight. Quick-lock levers make gear engagement a breeze, gloves or no gloves, and the advanced internal cable management minimizes the risk of cable snags. It even sports a 6-inch dual dovetail saddle that's compatible with both Losmandy and Vixen plates.

As for the tech, it's got a reliable stepper motor drive system and low power consumption. The new LiteRoc 1.75" tripod brings sturdy support without adding extra weight. And let's not forget its robust 212,000+ object library, star identification, and optional Wi-Fi connectivity (via the iStarFi adapter).
