The iOptron GEM45EC is a cutting-edge German equatorial mount that combines innovative thinking with a design that's stood the test of time. One look at its sleek CNC-machined body and you know this mount means business.
Building upon the knowledge gained from our CEM series, we've cut down the excess to give the GEM45 a staggering 2.2 payload-to-mount weight ratio. This means that this lean 18-lb mount can accurately point to and track objects while carrying up to 45 lbs of your astro-gear. Need to polar align but can't see Polaris? No problem—the integrated iPolar electronic polar scope has got you covered. Plus, its quick-lock drive engagement system features large levers that are glove-friendly. And don't worry about cable snags; the mount’s internal advanced cable management system takes care of that.
