Meet the HEM27 and HEM27EC, iOptron's groundbreaking mounts that combine hybrid strain wave drive tech to redefine your stargazing game. Picture this: a mount head that tips the scales at just 8.15lbs but can shoulder a payload of 29.74lbs—no awkward counterweight or shaft needed. With years of expertise in crafting high-precision mounts, iOptron turns this concept into a real deal with the HEM27 series.
The HEM27 models employ cutting-edge strain wave drive technology for Right Ascension (RA) coupled with a backlash-free worm and belt drive in Declination (DEC), maximizing weight-to-payload efficiency like never before. Not only is its CNC-machined body clad in black anodized metal a sight to behold, but it's also a durable workhorse guaranteed to perform for years on end. Bonus perks? An electronic friction brake and power-down memory mean you can safely halt or pick up where you left off—even after a sudden power cut. No need to recalibrate or start over.
You can take the reins of your HEM27 mount via a PC with ASCOM/Commander on Windows, third-party INDI drivers for MacOS, iOptron Commander Lite or apps like SkySafari on smartphones and tablets, or even a Raspberry Pi device using INDI.
Want to take it up a notch? The HEM27EC comes with a high-precision RA axis encoder for super-accurate tracking, making auto-guiding optional for many users.
Curious about a low-latitude range? HEM27 mounts are available for special orders at 0~22 degrees.
