The Player One E-series elevates the game from the S-series by incorporating top-notch optical glass and a multi-layer composite coating. Designed with a higher spec, it's fine-tuned for CMOS/CCD cameras, offering advanced capabilities in astrophotography.
Moving on to the Photosphere filter, it's more of a sidekick than a standalone hero. To capture the sun safely, you'll still need either Baader film or a Herschel wedge for sunlight attenuation. Then, you can add this filter to your imaging setup.
Why the Photosphere filter, you ask? If you're into solar imaging, a Herschel wedge might be your go-to for improved contrast, maybe even combined with an IR685 filter. But, for the crispest details on the solar photosphere, you really want to be around the 540nm mark. This Photosphere filter, with its narrow 7.5nm bandwidth, will let you capture granular sunspot detail that's truly out of this world.
Where does it go in the setup? Stick it on your T-mount to keep your camera glass free from dust particles.
