Introducing the ZEUS FULL FRAME IMAGER – the NEW FLAGSHIP IMAGER from Player One Astronomy, featuring the Sony IMX455 sensor. This innovative camera combines a distinctive hexagonal shape with a technologically advanced octagonal body, enhanced by curved sides and rounded chamfers for a balance of strength and flexibility. Its round front design is specifically made to prevent diffraction on RASA telescopes. The striking red and black color scheme, along with a superfine frosting process, gives this camera a luxurious and cool appearance, in line with the Player One style. The ZEUS 455M Pro cooled camera, designed for advanced DSO imaging, incorporates a Sony Industrial grade IMX455ALK-K full-frame format monochrome sensor. It boasts a 3.76um pixel size, a well depth of 71.6Ke, a total of 61MP resolution (9576*6388), and a 44.3mm diagonal.
The camera features a Rear Adjustment 4 Point Sensor Tilt Plate, which minimizes field curvature and is advantageous for deep-sky object photography. Player One's cooled camera series, including the Zeus Camera, employs a 2 Stage TEC Cooling unit, achieving a Delta-T of approximately 35℃. The camera is enhanced with a 512MB DDR3 Cache to stabilize data transmission, prevent frame dropping, and significantly reduce readout noise.
Utilizing Sony's STARVIS technology, the ZEUS 455M Pro provides exceptional back-illuminated pixel quality in CMOS image sensors. Its full-frame format (36mm*24mm) is ideally suited for professional DSO imaging. The IMX455 sensor's native 16-bit ADC (65536 levels) offers higher resolution than 12bit or 14bit, allowing for robust non-linear transformation, better light and dark transitions, and more vivid colors. This camera also features Non-Amp-Glow technology.
The ZEUS 455M Pro comes with dual Type-C data ports and a 12V DC power port. The main data port supports USB3.0 protocol, allowing the camera to run at 6.5fps under RAW8 mode. For optimal performance, it is recommended to use a high-quality solid-state drive for data recording. The camera’s cooling system and anti-dew heater are adjustable through the ASCOM window, with settings for target temperature, fan speed, and anti-dew power.
Overvoltage and overcurrent protection mechanisms ensure the safety of your equipment. The ZEUS series offers a dual sampling mode, with a Normal mode for faster FPS, suitable for planetary imaging, and a Low Noise mode for DSO imaging, featuring lower readout noise and higher dynamic range. The ZEUS 455M Pro has a 71.6Ke full well capacity and a readout noise as low as 1.5e in HCG mode. The camera's dark current maintains a near-linear curve, demonstrating exceptional quality.
