Player One Xena-M (IMX585) USB3.0 Mono Guiding Camera

The Player One Xena 585M is a “small camera, big sensor” guider that also pulls double duty for lightweight imaging. Built around the Sony IMX585 mono sensor (1/1.2"), it combines modern STARVIS 2 back-illuminated tech, USB 3.0 speed, and genuinely strong performance specs—so you get fast downloads, clean stars, and a wide enough field to make finding guide stars way less annoying.

• Sony IMX585 mono sensor (1/1.2") for a wide guide field and easier star acquisition

• 8.3MP resolution (3856 × 2180) with a 12.85mm diagonal—roomy for guiding and flexible for imaging

• 2.9µm pixels with a deep 47ke full well for strong dynamic range headroom

• STARVIS 2 back-illuminated sensor tech for improved sensitivity and low-light performance

• USB 3.0 (5Gbps) integrated data port for fast transfers (a big jump over USB 2.0)

• 1.25" body diameter slides straight into a 1.25" guide scope adapter to keep spacing short and clean

• HDR mode (IMX585 feature) for expanded dynamic range and lower read noise—helpful when you’re also using it for DSO imaging

• DPS (Dead Pixel Suppression) maps and corrects fixed bad pixels using camera-stored calibration data (built from dark frame analysis)

• Overvoltage & overcurrent protection helps protect the camera and the rest of your rig

• ST4 guiding support: connect to your mount’s AUTO GUIDE port for direct guiding

• Speed note: up to 47 FPS at full resolution in RAW8 preview (10-bit ADC). For recording, an SSD is recommended to sustain high write speeds.

• Performance you can actually quantify: tested read noise down to 0.7e at gain 500

• High sensitivity: approx. 91% peak QE (per published curve)
