QHYCCD QHY5III585M (IMX585) USB3.2 Type-C Mono Planetary & Guiding Camera (Ver.2)
The QHY5III585M is a seriously capable “do-it-all” camera for planetary, lunar, solar, and guiding, built around the Sony IMX585 STARVIS 2 sensor. You get a large 1/1.2" format, 2.9µm pixels, excellent near-infrared sensitivity, and a big jump in dynamic range—plus QHY’s practical Ver.2 improvements like USB-C, a 512MB DDR3 buffer, a compact 8mm backfocus (no adapter) for OAG friendliness, and a standard ST-4 guide port that’s easy to replace if you ever lose the cable.
- Sony IMX585 STARVIS 2 (BSI) sensor for high sensitivity and strong HDR performance
- Excellent near-IR response (great for IR-pass planetary work and high-contrast lunar/solar imaging)
- Large 1/1.2" sensor with 8.4MP resolution (3856×2180) for easier framing and more guide stars
- Zero glow characteristics for clean captures
- Big full well capacity (listed 52ke-) for improved dynamic range and highlight control
- Ultra-low read noise (listed 0.77e- to 8e-) for better fine detail and smoother stacks
- 512MB DDR3 built-in image buffer to reduce dropped frames and ease USB transfer pressure during high-speed capture
- USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C interface for durability and convenient cabling (strongly recommended: high-quality USB-C cable)
- OAG-friendly backfocus: 8mm without adapter / 17mm with adapter
-
Flexible telescope/lens use with interchangeable top glass and included adapters
- 1.25" nosepiece support + use of 1.25" filters
- Includes CS and C-mount options for adapting lenses
- Standard ST-4 guide port (easy to replace cables, no proprietary weirdness)
- Status indicator LED on the rear for diagnostics (off during normal use to avoid light contamination)
- Filters included: IR850nm filter plus IR-cut filter included (per provided info)
